Photographing the whimsy and wonder of childhood is a special favorite for me. The characters and themes that captivate our children's imaginations also teach them valuable lessons about friendship, love, courage and perseverance. They show them that anything is possible if they believe in themselves. For the adults, the characters represent a sense of nostalgia and remind us of the importance of embracing our inner child. I can't think of a more fulfilling way to decorate the walls of your child's room than to display the time of enchantment and endless possibilities. Magical images are created that will bring you smiles for years to come.

kind words from happy parents

"Linda was such a pleasure to work with. We have a 5 month old and although she is 5 months she came early at just 30 weeks so developmentally for milestones she is only 3 months. So she is not a sitter and just getting into the fun giggly stage. Linda did such a wonderful job catching her very few smiles she wanted to give. She was kind and patient. She took time to explain everything thoroughly. If you’re thinking of getting pictures done… definitely check out Ms. Linda. The quality is exceptional. The pictures are absolutely beautiful and fun yet also very realistic to everyday life especially if you have an uncooperative infant. Just all around a great experience."     ~K.M.

"I couldn't be happier with the results after getting my toddler's photos taken by Linda! I was skeptical that anyone could get a good shot of my rambunctious and wild little boy but I was proven wrong.

Linda has a keen eye for capturing beautiful moments and knew exactly how to keep my energetic 2 year old comfortable in front of the camera. She was very patient and kind to my child which really helped getting him to sit still so she could get some really good shots in.

I would highly recommend Linda Buchanan to anyone in need of a skilled and talented photographer. They have a true passion for their craft as evidenced by the wonderful sets she has set up and it showed in every photo she took of my child."     ~D.R.

What Will It Cost?

Choosing to invest in portraits of your child(ren) is an important decision and often requires careful consideration alongside other priorities.  However, while many things we purchase wear out, become worthless and fade with time, custom portraits become priceless heirlooms that grow in value. They capture the moments and milestones that you’ll want to revisit, cherish, and pass down for generations.  They, especially, can have a positive influence on the self-esteem of children of all ages when they can see their images on the walls of your home.  It reminds them every day that they are an important member of the family.

That is why I use only the best professional labs to produce your artwork.

The fee for a standard session is $1190 and includes a personalized styling consultation, themed backdrop (if desired), photo session, in-person sales appointment and a $900 image credit.   For cake smash sessions, a 6" cake will be included.

Most clients invest $1500+ for their artwork and albums.  I offer no-cost payment plans with qualified purchases.

Your Questions Answered

What types of photography services do you offer?

My photography style includes posed and lifestyle portraits, depending on your vision and how you intend to display the images.

Generally, I specialize in capturing meaningful moments and creating stunning visual stories. If you like, I do enjoy adding a painterly style to portraits, especially themed sessions with little ones.

How do I book a photography session with you?

Booking a photography session is easy. Simply reach out to me through the contact form on my website. In a brief phone call, we will discuss your requirements, and set up a time for an in-person consultation and your session.

What should we wear for the photo session?

During our in-person consultation, we’ll collaborate on a color palette that complements the season, setting, and your home’s décor—especially if you’re planning to display your portraits as wall art or in an album. I’ll guide you through the entire wardrobe planning process, taking this task off your plate so you can feel confident, prepared, and excited for your session.

How long does a typical photo session last?

The duration of a photo session varies depending on the type and scope of the project. Family portrait sessions typically range from 1-1.5 hours, while children's sessions are typically shorter to accommodate for the shorter attention span of each age. I strive to provide ample time to capture all the important moments and ensure you feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the session.

What if my child isn't in the mood for photos?

It's completely normal for children to feel unsure, especially when meeting someone new with a big camera! That’s why I offer a pre-session consultation where I can meet your child in a relaxed setting—this way, I’m a familiar, friendly face by the time we start the session. During the shoot, I’ll gently ease your child into the environment, allowing them time to explore and get comfortable before I ever lift the camera. Sometimes, inviting them to peek through my lens or even take a photo themselves gives them a sense of fun and control, which can work wonders. With years of experience (and two toddler grandkids of my own!), I understand how to meet each child where they are—and capture their true spirit, even if it takes a little patience.

What happens if the weather is unfavorable on the day of an outdoor shoot?

If the weather doesn't cooperate on the day of an outdoor shoot, we can discuss alternatives such as rescheduling the session or finding an indoor location. I want to ensure the best possible outcome for your photos, and I'm flexible in adapting to unforeseen circumstances.

How will you show us our photos?

Your images will be shown to you (lightly edited) during our in-person sales session. During this meeting, I will help you cull the images down to just those that you love.

How long does it take to receive the final edited photos?

I understand the anticipation of seeing your final photos. After our in-person sales session, my editing process typically takes 1-2 weeks, depending on the volume of images and the complexity of editing required. I prioritize quality and attention to detail to deliver exceptional images that exceed your expectations. Once the photos are edited, the time it takes for the lab to print will depend on your choices of prints, wall art or albums. Your digitals will be delivered via online gallery as soon as the final edits are complete.

Will I receive print rights?

Yes, for every image that you purchase (wall art, print, in an album), you will receive the associated high-resolution digital file.
